Are the children of my wet nurse's husband considered my siblings?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If the suckling consists of five full sucklings or more, and the milk is attributed to the husband, then they become your full siblings (from both father and mother) through suckling. As for his children from the second wife, they are your paternal siblings through suckling. A suckling is counted when the child holds the breast and sucks the milk until it reaches his stomach, then releases it. This is repeated until five or more sucklings are completed, whether in one sitting or multiple sittings, and on one day or over several days, provided that the nursed child is under two years of age, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There is no suckling except within the two years," and his saying to Sahla bint Suhail: "Suckle Salim five sucklings, and you will become unlawful for him," and because it is established that the ten sucklings were abrogated by five known sucklings.
