Is speaking little with one's father considered an act of disobedience, knowing that his nature is to speak little, and what is the obligatory way to show dutifulness to parents?

Filial piety is a comprehensive term for showing kindness and pleasing one's parents. It includes several aspects: revering them and treating them with gentleness and kindness, as Allah Almighty says: "And speak to them a noble word." It also includes assisting them and spending on them if they are in need, and obeying them in everything that does not involve disobedience [to Allah] or harm to the child. Furthermore, it involves showing kindness to them after their death through supplication and honoring their friends. Engaging in conversation with a parent falls under filial piety. However, if the parent is not talkative, the child should be affectionate with them as much as possible, and be considerate of their psyche and mood by not burdening them with conversation if it bothers them. Filial piety encompasses everything that pleases parents, as stated in the hadith: "The pleasure of the Lord is in the pleasure of the father."
