What is the interpretation of Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari's hadith in Sahih Muslim (Zakat), chapter: If the Son of Adam Had... Hadith No. 1050?

The meaning of the hadith is that Abu Musa sent a message to the people of the Qur'an in Basra, advising them to recite the Qur'an and not to desire a long stay in this world, lest their hearts become hardened. He recited to them verses whose wording had been abrogated from the Qur'an, such as His saying: "If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would seek a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust." Its meaning is that man is never satiated with wealth except by death and the entry of dust into his belly. He also urged them to recite the tasbih (glorifications), and reminded them of Allah Almighty's saying: "Why do you say what you do not do?" meaning that whoever commits himself to something will be questioned about it on the Day of Resurrection.
