How can Muslims residing in the West convey the religion of Islam and the prophethood of Muhammad, peace be upon him, to non-Muslims, including those who believe in God but not in a prophet, and those who do not believe in anything, in fulfillment of the Prophet's saying, "Convey from me, even if it is a single verse"?

Knowing the condition of the one being invited to Islam and their needs is a type of insight required in da'wah (inviting to Allah), for Allah the Almighty says: "Say, 'This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah above all that they associate with Him, and I am not of the polytheists.'" (Quran 12:108). Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen clarified that among the etiquettes of the da'ee (one who invites to Islam) is to have insight into the person they are inviting, so as to address them appropriately. He supported this by citing that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent Mu'adh to Yemen, he said to him: "You are going to a people from the People of the Scripture. Let the first thing you invite them to be the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." The point here is that the Prophet (peace be upon him) informed him of their situation so that he would be prepared to deal with them and treat them according to their level of knowledge. One can benefit from reliable Islamic fatwas and websites that demonstrate the proofs that Islam is the true religion and the signs of the truthfulness of Muhammad's prophethood (peace be upon him), and also by communicating with trustworthy Islamic centers.
