It is recommended to bury a miscarried fetus that has not yet taken shape, such as a congealed blood clot (alaqah) or a chewed-like lump of flesh (mudghah). There is no harm for a woman to handle it directly, even if she is menstruating. This is even more appropriate given that it is permissible for her to handle the burial of a fully formed deceased person.
