The finder of a stray hen has the choice between eating it and guaranteeing its value to its owner, or keeping it and spending on its upkeep, or selling it and holding its price for its owner. It is not advisable to release it onto the road. Its finding must be announced for one year, after which it becomes the property of its finder. However, if its owner appears thereafter, he has the right to reclaim it if it is present or take its value.
