Is there a middle ground to rectify the crookedness of the ruler, between revolting against him and absolute obedience, with evidence from verses, hadiths, and narrations?

Absolute obedience is to Allah and His Messenger. As for the obedience to the Muslim ruler, it is subordinate to the obedience of Allah and His Messenger. If he commands disobedience, then his obedience is not permissible, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Obedience is only in what is good and right," and his saying: "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator." Disobeying the ruler in sin does not mean rebelling against him; rather, it means rectifying his deviation by not following him in his error, and advising him privately with wisdom and good counsel.
