What is the ruling on one who absolves Allah of something befitting Him, out of ignorance or doubt, such as someone who says: "Glory be to Allah above the Throne," while not knowing that the Throne is befitting of Allah Almighty? And does he commit an act of disbelief in such a case? And can a person commit an act of disbelief while disliking it, even if he performs the actions due to ignorance or doubt?

The cure for obsessive thoughts (waswas) is to ignore them and turn away from them. Your dislike for them is proof of the sincerity of your faith, and you will be rewarded for struggling against them. An ignorant person is not held accountable, for Allah Almighty says: "And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred, but [only for] what your hearts intended." Strive to seek sacred knowledge, as it dispels obsessive thoughts. The prophets' trials with calamities served great purposes, such as elevating their ranks and making them role models. Continue to repel obsessive thoughts and know that you are upon monotheism and that your faith is not affected by them.
