What is the Sharia ruling on making up for the days that a sick person missed fasting due to chemotherapy, and does he receive the reward for praying Qiyam al-Layl if he prays Tarawih at home because he is unable to go to the mosque, and is he obligated to make up for the Qiyam al-Layl prayer on the following day if he was unable to perform it due to severe fatigue?

First: It is permissible to break the fast in Ramadan due to illness. If the illness subsides, one must make up the missed days (qada'). If the illness is chronic and not expected to subside, one must feed a poor person for each day (fidya).

Second: A Muslim is rewarded for performing the Night Prayer (Tarawih) whether he prays it in the mosque or at home. And whoever regularly prayed it in the mosque, then prayed it at home due to illness, will have its full reward written for him.

Third: Whoever misses the Night Prayer due to an excuse (such as illness or sleep), it is prescribed for him to make it up during the day. It is narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, if he missed the Night Prayer, he would pray twelve rak'ahs during the day. The worshipper should make up what he would have prayed at night and add one rak'ah to it.
