Is it permissible to marry a widow of good character and religious commitment without the mother's approval?

If a woman is of good religious character and morals, and the mother prevents her son from marrying her merely because she is a widow, then the mother does not have to be obeyed in this case. The son is not considered disobedient by opposing her.
