Is reading romantic stories between two males, which do not contain illicit or pornographic content, forbidden?

The Sharia blocked the means (sadd al-dhara'i') to evil. Love stories and romance novels are forbidden because they violate the Sharia and invite indecency. Reading them negatively affects the soul and incites immorality. It is more befitting for a Muslim to occupy their time with what is beneficial.
