What is the ruling on reading foreign romantic stories that describe sexual scenes in detail, knowing that the reader wears a hijab, prays, and fears Allah?

Reading romantic stories and novels, listening to music, and watching romantic movies are all forbidden (haram) due to the many corrupting influences that result from them, such as arousing lust, inciting carnal desires, attaching the heart to forbidden things, and occupying time with what is not beneficial—indeed, often with what is harmful. These actions are contrary to what Islamic law (Shari'ah) calls for, which is to block all avenues leading to the forbidden. This is supported by the prophetic tradition (hadith): "Indeed, Allah has decreed for the son of Adam his share of zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), and he will inevitably attain it. The zina of the eye is gazing (at what is forbidden), the zina of the tongue is speaking (forbidden words), the soul wishes and desires, and the private parts either confirm or deny that." It is obligatory to abandon these forbidden acts immediately because sin darkens the heart. Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better, along with sincere repentance and engaging in what is beneficial for one's religion and worldly life, such as reading the Qur'an, the biography of the Prophet and his companions, and listening to beneficial lectures.
