Is repentance from a specific sin valid without repenting from another, and will this repentance be accepted if the servant is committing another sin?

Scholars have unanimously agreed on the obligation of repenting from all sins immediately, whether minor or major, and this is one of the most important principles of Islam. Repentance from one sin is valid even while persisting in another, but it is an incomplete and deficient repentance, unless the persistence in a sin is of the same type as the sin one repented from, such as repenting from one type of usury while persisting in another. Sincere repentance (tawbah nasuh) is that which encompasses all sins with a genuine resolve and purification from impurities, occurring purely out of fear of Allah Almighty and desire for what is with Him.
