How can I respond to someone who claims that my appearance is inconsistent with my religious knowledge, even though I derive my information from reliable sources?

Truth is accepted from whoever brings it, whether young or old, for wisdom is the believer's lost property. It is permissible to advise with what one knows to be true, even if it is an ayah or a hadith, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Convey from me, even if it is a single ayah." And his saying: "May Allah illuminate a person who hears a hadith from us, memorizes it, and conveys it to others. For many a carrier of fiqh is not a faqih, and many a carrier of fiqh conveys it to one who is more understanding than him." The caller to Islam must strive to increase their knowledge, act upon what they call to, and avoid argumentation about what they do not know.
