Tasbih (glorification of Allah) is among the remembrances that Islamic law encourages. Evidence of its virtue includes the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever says, 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi (Glorified be Allah and praised be He)' one hundred times in a day, his sins will be forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea." And his saying: "Two words that are light on the tongue, heavy on the Scale, and beloved to the Most Merciful: 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, Subhanallahil-Azeem (Glorified be Allah and praised be He, Glorified be Allah the Almighty).'" And his saying: "The most beloved words to Allah are four: 'Subhanallah (Glorified be Allah), Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah), La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah), and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest).' It does not matter which of them you begin with." And his saying: "'Subhanallah (Glorified be Allah) and Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah)' fill, or fill what is between the heavens and the earth." The virtue of tasbih is immense; it is a remembrance that is light on the tongue and heavy on the Scale, and all beings glorify Allah with His praise, but we do not comprehend their glorification.
