Is the hadith sound: "When I observed the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) pleasant demeanor, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for me.' So he said, 'O Allah, forgive Aisha her past and future sins, what she has concealed and what she has declared.' Aisha then laughed until her head fell into her lap from laughter. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, 'Does my supplication please you?' She replied, 'And why would your supplication not please me?' So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'By Allah, it is indeed my supplication for my Ummah in every prayer'"?
The narrations of the prophetic hadith "By Allah, it is my prayer for my Ummah in every Salah" are numerous. The most authentic of these is what Ibn Hibban narrated in his "Sahih" from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed for her forgiveness and she became joyful. He then informed her that he supplicates with this prayer for his Ummah in every Salah. Sheikh Al-Albani and others have graded it as hasan (good). As for the other narrations of the hadith, they contain weakness or discontinuity in their chains of transmission.
