Who are the House of Yasin?

Scholars have differed on the meaning of Allah's saying, "Peace be upon Ilyasin" (Qur’an 37:130). Some are of the view that it refers to Ilyas (Elijah), peace be upon him, and that Arabs sometimes alter foreign names. Others believe that it refers to his "āl" (progeny or followers), meaning those of his religion and who followed his methodology, and that they are included in the peace. A third view is that it refers to the family of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, but this is a weak opinion because the context of the verses pertains to the story of Ilyas, peace be upon him, and because "Yasin" is a disconnected letter (muqatta'ah) and not one of the names of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
