How can one deal with severe fluctuations in faith, the desire to commit sins, and abandoning acts of worship after having committed to them, along with the embarrassment of showing acts of obedience in front of family, in order to achieve righteousness and steadfastness in obedience?
Abandoning prayer is a grave sin that necessitates repentance. One who dies having abandoned it faces a difficult fate, unless Allah wills otherwise. Faith fluctuates, but neglecting obligations and committing forbidden acts leads to perdition. Every endeavor has a period of vigor followed by a decline. Whoever's decline leads them back to the Sunnah will succeed, and whoever's decline leads them elsewhere will perish. Periods of decline are natural, and whoever's decline does not lead them to abandon an obligation or commit a forbidden act, there is hope for good for them. Laziness and apathy often stem from sins, such as listening to music, for it corrupts the heart. For salvation, one must avoid sins and strive in acts of obedience, especially the five daily prayers, and frequently recite the Qur'an and supplicate, and associate with righteous women. Fear of family's reactions is not an excuse for abandoning prayer, and Allah is more deserving of awe.
