Is the Hadith narrated by Yunus bin Bukair from Muhammad bin Ishaq, which contains the story of Abu Jahl and his attempt to assault the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was praying, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "That is Jibreel; had he come nearer to me, he would have seized him," authentic? And who did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mean by his saying, "That is Jibreel"?

The story mentioned has a weak chain of transmission (Isnad), revolving around Ibn Ishaq from an obscure, unknown sheikh from Mecca. It is impermissible to use reports from unknown individuals as evidence. The phrase "it was mentioned to me" within it indicates weakness. Emphatic statements are only made for what is authentic (Sahih) or good (Hasan), whereas for weak narrations, one says: "It was narrated from him," or "It was reported from him," and similar phrases. It has been established that Abu Jahl threatened the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and Allah Almighty threatened Abu Jahl by unleashing angels upon him in Surah Al-Alaq. In Sahih Muslim, it is narrated that Abu Jahl attempted to step on the neck of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was praying, but he retreated in fear, saying that between him and the Prophet was a trench of fire, terror, and wings. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then said: "Had he come closer to me, the angels would have snatched him limb by limb."
