God made the Muslim woman's place in her home a safeguard and protection for her from the gazes of onlookers and the tongues of fools, as Allah Almighty said: (And abide in your homes). There are several prohibitions and harms in their sitting in front of shops, among them: it is an exit without need, contrary to what Allah commanded, and it leads to suspicion about them and invites doubt, and it is an invitation for men and women to mix, which is one of the greatest causes of corruption, as Ibn al-Qayyim said: "There is no doubt that enabling women to mix with men is the root of every calamity and evil." Also, their sitting usually does not prevent the uncovering of their hands and feet and the raising of their voices, with what may accompany that of laughter and cackling and excessive talk and shouting. And they may miss many worldly and otherworldly benefits, such as prayer, and the loss of many rights towards their husbands and children or their fathers and mothers. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned men against sitting in the streets unless they fulfilled its right, which is difficult in our time, so preventing women is even more appropriate. In summary: What is prescribed for a Muslim woman is not to leave her home except out of necessity, and if she leaves, she should not stay long in the market without need, and she should hasten to return to her home, and she should stay away from places of temptation.
