When should the intention for the next rak'ah or tashahhud be made during prayer? And must it be during prostration (sujud) and before rising from it, or is it permissible after it if forgotten? If I remember the rak'ah I am rising for during the transition, should I pause briefly to remember then complete the transition? And must I remember the prayer I am performing and what I intended before the takbirat al-ihram throughout all parts of the prayer? What if I forget?

It is sufficient for determining the intention of prayer that you intend in your heart the prayer you wish to perform. It is not legislated to utter the intention verbally. The intention must coincide with the Takbirat al- (the opening Takbir) or be slightly before it. It is not legislated to renew the intention for parts of the prayer, such as the next Rak'ah or the .
