Is forgiving the oppressor more rewarding than taking his good deeds on the Day of Judgment?

It has been reported from some scholars regarding the issue of seeking absolution from injustices and liabilities that there are three opinions:

1. It is better not to seek absolution: This was attributed to Al-Shafi'i, because the wronged party will receive their good deeds in full on the Day of Resurrection. 2. Forgiveness is better: Because it is a great act of benevolence for which one is rewarded by Allah, and the hadith of Abu Damdam, who forgave people for wrongs done to him, was cited as evidence. 3. Differentiating between injustices and liabilities: So, absolution should be sought for liabilities but not for injustices. This opinion was attributed to Imam Malik.

Al-Haytami preferred the second opinion, stating that forgiveness is absolutely better.
