What is the ruling on a vow that a man accustomed himself to, by offering a sacrifice in the month of Rajab to the awliya' (saints) or to the Ahl al-Bayt (People of the House), such as Sayyida Zaynab and Husayn, while saying it is for Allah when informed of its impermissibility?

If a man vows to Allah and dedicates its reward to the Awliya (saints), then dedicating the reward of good deeds to the deceased is permissible according to the majority of scholars. However, dedicating the vow specifically to the month of Rajab is an act from the pre-Islamic era (Al-Atirah) that Islam abolished, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no fara' nor atirah." Nevertheless, those who slaughter for Awliya such as Sayyida Zaynab and Al-Husayn believe that the Awliya bring benefits and ward off harm. This is a polytheistic belief that casts doubt on the sincerity of the vow being purely for Allah.
