Is it considered despair and hopelessness in God's mercy to only not pray for worldly matters and desire the Hereafter, while continuing to seek God's guidance (istikharah) and be content with His decree?

A wife has the right to ward off injustice from herself by appealing to the ruler or witnesses. If harm is proven, the husband is obligated to cease it or divorce. However, if the husband curses Allah Almighty, he has apostatized from Islam, and he must be avoided. If he repents during the 'iddah (waiting period), then [it is permissible], otherwise, she is not his wife. One must not despair of supplication, for the sincere prayer of a Muslim is never lost. It is either granted as requested, or evil is averted from them in exchange for their request, or it is stored for them as merits on the Day of Judgment, as a reward for their supplication.
