Is it permissible to wish that the supplication for marriage to a person had not been answered, when it became clear after the marriage that he does not observe prayer and physically and verbally assaults his wife?

It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to be displeased with divine decree (Qadar) and to wish that her supplication not be answered, because everything in the universe is predestined and written, as Allah Almighty says: "No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We create it – indeed that, for Allah, is easy – In order that you not despair over what has eluded you nor exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allah does not like every self-deluded and boastful one."

She should strive for what benefits her, seek help from Allah, and not become helpless. If something befalls her, she should not say, "If only I had done such and such, it would have been thus and so," but rather say, "Qaddar Allah, wa ma sha'a fa'al" (Allah has decreed, and what He willed, He did), for "if only" opens the door to the work of Satan.

To reform the husband, one should seek help from Allah Almighty, strive to guide him to righteousness, and assist him in repentance and uprightness, especially regarding the adherence to prayer. If the husband repents and becomes upright and treats his wife with kindness, she should praise Allah Almighty and treat him kindly in return. Otherwise, she has the option to separate from him through khul' (divorce at the wife's request) or divorce.
