Is the questioner considered to be immodest and unveiled before God for not wearing the niqab, bearing in mind that she wears the hijab and covers her entire body except for her face, and her father refuses the niqab out of fear for her and has sworn by divorce regarding that?

The niqab, which covers the entire face, is obligatory for women, as a woman's face gathers her beauty and is the most potent source of temptation. Allah Almighty commanded it in His saying: {and let them draw their headcovers over their bosoms}, and His saying: {they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments}. Ibn Abbas interpreted this verse as covering the face.

The daughter must inform her father about the obligation of the niqab. If he insists on preventing her, then there is no obedience to him in disobedience to the Creator. If she is forced to remove the niqab for studying, there is no sin upon her, because she is coerced, and one who is coerced is not burdened, according to His saying, the Almighty: {unless you are forced to it}, and His saying: {Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity}, and according to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "If I command you to do something, then do of it what you can." However, she must return to wearing the niqab as soon as the coercion ceases.
