Who will be held accountable for a wife's removing her hijab: the father who advised her not to remove it, or the husband?

When a wife moves into her husband's home, her obedience to him takes precedence over her obedience to her parents. Her husband is responsible for her before God, and he is obligated to make her wear the hijab (definition). This does not mean that the duty of advising and denouncing the wrongdoing of his daughter falls away from her father or anyone else who sees her committing a forbidden act. For whoever sees a forbidden act, let him change it. Enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong is a fard kifayah (collective obligation) and may become an individual obligation for someone who sees his wife or child committing a forbidden act. If abandonment benefits the wife, her father should abandon her, for often the abandonment by a parent is a deterrent for a daughter from sin.
