Is it necessary to make up missed prayers by performing two prayers after each prescribed prayer? And is this a matter of scholarly consensus, or is it a view held solely by Al-Dasuqi?

Scholars have differed on the ruling regarding the immediate performance of missed prayers (fawait). The Malikis and Hanbalis believe in the obligation of performing them immediately, citing the hadith: "He should pray it when he remembers it." The Hanbalis, however, qualify this, stating that it applies as long as the person does not suffer harm to their body or livelihood. As for the Shafi'is, they hold that performing missed prayers, if missed due to a valid excuse, may be done at one's leisure, though immediacy is recommended. If the missed prayers are numerous, some scholars, like Al-Dasuqi, believe that one should make up at least two days' worth of prayers daily, unless this affects their livelihood, in which case it is permissible to limit it to one day's prayers.
