How can an unmarried girl, striving for chastity, deal with intense sexual urges?

A woman may offer herself in marriage to a righteous man, following the example of the woman who offered herself to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and Umar ibn al-Khattab when he offered his daughter Hafsa to Uthman, and the righteous man who offered his daughter to Musa (peace be upon him). It is recommended to fast when one is unable to marry.
