What is the ruling on changing the name of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to "Mumahid" and the name of Allah, "Al-Muhsin," to "Al-Muhasin," by way of mockery, and what is your guidance to those who do so?
It is not permissible for a Muslim to mock his Muslim brother under any circumstances; based on the words of the Almighty: "O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them," and the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "It is enough evil for a person to despise his Muslim brother." As for ridiculing the names and attributes of Allah, or the prophets, it is disbelief that expels one from the fold of Islam; based on the words of the Almighty: "Say, 'Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?' Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief." These individuals must be advised to repent and abstain from these transgressions.
