Is the Hadith: "May Allah bless the hairy man, and may Allah bless the smooth and hairless woman" authentic?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

This Hadith has no basis and is among the fabricated and distasteful Hadiths that should not be attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Ibn al-Qayyim said: "Fabricated Hadiths have a darkness, clumsiness, and cold exaggerations that proclaim their fabrication and invention against the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." Sheikh Ali al-Qari mentioned it in his book "Al-Asrar al-Marfu'ah fi al-Akhbar al-Mawdu'ah" with the wording: "Indeed, Allah loves the hairy man and dislikes the hairy woman." His mention of it in this book signifies that it is a fabricated Hadith. Al-Ajlouni said in "Kashf al-Khafa": "I have not seen it with this wording," and Sheikh Abu Ishaq al-Huwayni stated that it is not a Hadith and is among the Hadiths that Ibn al-Jawzi himself does not know. Therefore, it is not permissible to narrate this Hadith except to show its falsehood and to warn against attributing it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
