What were the things the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to carry when he walked among his companions in Medina?

What a person carries when entering and exiting, in terms of customary matters, not acts of worship, is subject to individual needs. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not habitually carry anything with him except the siwak. However, Jabir's narration, "The siwak was from the Prophet's ear, like the place of a pen from the writer's ear," is flawed and not authentically attributed to him. What is established is that Zayd ibn Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, was the one who did that.

In the current era, a person needs to carry things that serve their interests, such as documents and money. The requirement is for a Muslim to live in a way that achieves the interests of both their religion and their worldly life, acting upon the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Be keen on what benefits you, and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart." Indeed, both reason and Islamic law necessitate the acquisition and perfection of benefits. If a benefit and a harm conflict, it is obligatory to discern which outweighs the other and to prioritize what is more beneficial.
