Is it considered a failure if children do not provide for the needs of a father who accuses them of failing him, despite their care for him and their provision of essentials which he then damages?

It is recommended to supplicate for the father, asking Allah to grant him guidance and rectitude, and to endure his harm while continuing to be dutiful to him. One should be warned against disobeying him. It is appropriate to advise him and remind him of Allah, seeking assistance from righteous people. The siblings must be reminded that providing for and caring for a needy father is obligatory upon all his children, according to their ability.
