Should we pay zakat on gold?

"A quarter of one-tenth (2.5%) of gold must be given if it reaches the nisab (85 grams) and a full year has passed on it, whether it is saved or for trade. If it is jewelry owned by a woman, it is more cautious and more scrupulous to pay its zakat, despite the existence of a difference of opinion on this matter."
