Is the Sunnah preserved from loss and distortion, just like the Holy Quran, despite the burning of its books throughout the ages?

Allah, the Almighty, sent His Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with guidance and the religion of truth, and He revealed to him the Holy Quran, which He guaranteed to preserve. He also commanded the Prophet to explain it to the people. The Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, explained and expounded upon the Quran, and his Sunnah was a divinely inspired revelation from Allah. Allah preserved the Sunnah through the efforts of scholars whom He enabled to collect and record it, and to establish rules for its regulation. Despite incidents of book destruction, the Sunnah remains preserved in the hearts of scholars and in their widely disseminated books. This means that everything people need in their religion concerning rulings and laws is preserved. It does not necessarily mean that every single word uttered by the Prophet was preserved, nor is there one single book that encompasses the entire Sunnah. Rather, its knowledge exists within the Ummah and is preserved in the hearts of scholars and in their books.
