What is your opinion on the poetic verses: "And a more beautiful one than you my eye has never seen.... And a more comely one than you women have not borne You were created free from every blemish.... As if you were created as you willed"? And do you think they contain an exaggerated claim that is prohibited, and limit the virtues of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to physical beauty, and how could he have a will when he was not yet created? And do you agree that it is better to abandon them?

The two lines of poetry mentioned are attributed to Hassan ibn Thabit, and there is nothing objectionable or blameworthy exaggeration in them. Prophetic hadiths have described the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as having a beautiful appearance, and his being free from physical and moral defects is beyond doubt. The meaning of "as if you were created as you wished" is that his human attributes are so perfect that if he had wished for his own creation, he would not have added to that perfection, and a person only chooses the most perfect and best things for himself.
