Has your independent legal reasoning (ijtihad) changed regarding the ruling on the tambourine (duff) for men and women, from a previous fatwa that permitted it absolutely, to another that restricts it to women? And is the view of Imam al-Ghazali and Imam al-Dusouqi acceptable in permitting the tambourine absolutely, despite their knowledge of its use in mawlids and other gatherings?

There are differences between mentioning the schools of thought (madhahib) of the jurists (fuqaha') regarding a certain issue and prioritizing among them. Some fatwas mention the different opinions to clarify that the issue falls within the scope of jurisprudential disagreement without prioritizing, while other fatwas mention the preferred opinion. Imam Al-Ghazali's view, or anyone else's, on the drum (duff) does not fall outside the recognized schools of thought.
