Would I be sinful for having thrown school books in the trash, knowing that I later removed part of them?

A Muslim must protect everything written that is revered, such as the Qur’an, Hadith, and the names of Allah and the prophets, out of reverence for the sacred things of Allah. If school books contain mention of Allah, Qur’anic verses, or Prophetic hadiths, it is not permissible to dispose of them in the trash as a sign of disrespect. However, if you find it difficult and burdensome to transport and track them, there is no sin upon you. We advise those who experience frequent obsessive thoughts to disregard them and not pay attention to them.
