Which Surah and verse mention that the Qur'an was revealed in the Arabic language?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Holy Quran is described as "Arabic" in more than ten places, among them the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand." [Yusuf: 2], and His saying: "And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an and have diversified therein the warnings that perhaps they will become righteous or it will cause them to be reminded." [Taha: 113], and His saying: "And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur'an that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it" [Ash-Shura: 7]. And the Trustworthy Spirit descended with it upon the heart of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, "in a clear Arabic tongue." [Ash-Shu'ara: 195].
