What is the meaning of the noble Hadith which mentions that an angel was responding on behalf of Abu Bakr when he was silent, but when he spoke, the angel departed and Satan sat down, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked sitting in a place with Satan?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting with Abu Bakr when a man insulted Abu Bakr twice, and he remained silent. Then the man insulted him a third time, and Abu Bakr responded to him. The Prophet then rose up, angry. The Prophet explained to Abu Bakr that in the first two instances, an angel was defending him, but when Abu Bakr responded himself, Satan appeared, and the Prophet does not sit in a gathering where Satan is present. This indicates the virtue of patience and forgiveness; a Muslim has the choice of defending himself or being patient, and patience is better. The Prophet’s rising was because he wanted Abu Bakr to attain the complete virtue of patience, and because he does not sit where Satan is present.
