What is the interpretation of the verses: (When He made slumber fall upon you as a security from Him, and sent down upon you water from the sky to purify you with it and remove from you the defilement of Satan and to strengthen your hearts and make firm thereby your feet) and (Recall when your Lord inspired to the angels, "Indeed, I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike above the necks and strike from them every fingertip") and (And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good trial from Him. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing)?

Victory in the Battle of Badr was due to Allah's grace and His answer to the Muslims' prayers. He aided them with a thousand angels, sent down drowsiness upon them as a sense of security, and rain for purification and to firm their steps. He cast terror into the hearts of the disbelievers and commanded the angels to strengthen the believers and fight. He emphasized the severe punishment for the disbelievers who defied Allah and His Messenger and forbade the believers from fleeing from the battlefield except for maneuvering for combat or joining a group. He clarified that the killing of the disbelievers and the throwing of dust were by Allah's power, not by human strength, and that this was a test for the believers and a means to elevate their ranks.
