What is the interpretation of verse 42 of Surat Al-Anfal, which I was told in a dream holds the answer regarding the situation of Muslims and the future of Islam?

Verse 42 of Surat Al-Anfal refers to the Day of Discrimination (the Battle of Badr), where the Muslims were on "the nearer side" (closest to Medina) and the polytheists on "the farther side" (farthest from Medina), and the caravan was below them. Had they made an appointment, they would have differed over the timing, but Allah brought them together "that He might accomplish a matter already ordained," to strengthen His religion, and that whoever was to perish might perish upon a clear proof, and whoever was to live might live upon a clear proof, so that no one would have an excuse. The Battle of Badr was a clear sign indicating that victory and dominance come from Allah, not from multitude or means. The polytheists were in a better location (water and flat ground), while the Muslims were in a difficult place (sandy ground with no water), yet the Muslims were victorious. "And indeed, Allah is Hearing" of their sayings, "Knowing" of their disbelief and faith.
