What is the ruling on slaughtering one sheep as an ‘aqiqah for two daughters, and what is the appropriate time for slaughtering the ‘aqiqah, and what are the specifications and age of the sheep?

The Sunnah is to perform the 'aqiqah for the newborn on the seventh day after birth: two sheep for a boy and one sheep for a girl. If the time for slaughter on the seventh day is missed, then it can be done on the fourteenth, or the twenty-first, or else at any time it becomes feasible. So, slaughter one sheep for your daughter if no 'aqiqah was performed for her previously, and do not wait for the other newborn. One sheep is not sufficient for two newborns. The specifications for the 'aqiqah are the same as those for the udhiyah (sacrificial animal for Eid al-Adha).
