Is the blood money set at exactly 112 days?

Scholars have differed regarding the obligation of blood money (diyah) for a fetus. Some have held that it is not obligatory until after the ensoulment, which occurs after one hundred and twenty days; consequently, blood money is not obligatory during the period preceding that. While others have seen its obligation even if the fetus was a 'alaqah (clot). Many scholars have held that it is not obligatory unless the creation of a human being becomes apparent, and in this regard, reliance is placed on the testimony of trustworthy individuals. The Hanafis believe it is not obligatory until after ensoulment, and the Malikis believe in its obligation even if it was an 'alaqah. As for the Shafi'is and Hanbalis, they believe in its obligation if trustworthy individuals testify that the fetus has taken shape, and this latter opinion is the most preponderant.
