What are the rulings concerning blood money (diyya) related to a traffic accident that resulted in the death of two pregnant women, one of whom also lost her fetus, and what is its amount? Is it paid for each soul? Is it obligatory and subject to reduction or waiver?

Blood money (Diyah) is wealth made obligatory due to an offense against a free person, whether it be against life or limbs. It is mandatory once it becomes due, and it is not permissible to reduce it except with the consent of its beneficiaries. In cases of accidental killing, it is borne by the offender's 'Aqilah (male relatives on the father's side). Its amount is one hundred camels for the people of the desert, and twelve thousand silver dirhams or one thousand gold dinars for the people of the cities. It is paid for each life, and its value in the local currency is determined by inquiring about the value of camels, gold, or silver. In the case of an offense against a fetus, a "Ghurrah" (a male or female slave) is obligatory, its value being one-tenth of the mother's blood money, unless it is born alive and then dies due to the accident, in which case full blood money and expiation become due.
