Is the formula of seeking forgiveness, "I seek forgiveness from God, the Most High, the Most Great, and I repent to Him," permissible, or is it sufficient to say, "I seek forgiveness from God and I repent to Him"? And is it permissible to say, "O Allah, to You be praise as befits the glory of Your Face and the greatness of Your authority," after rising from bowing?

There is no harm in these phrases, as they contain nothing forbidden by Islamic law. However, it is preferable to stick to the transmitted (ma'thur) supplications. Among these are: "I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, Whom there is no god but He, the Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him," and "Our Lord, and to You be all praise," and "O Allah, our Lord, to You be all praise, filling the heavens, and filling the earth, and filling whatever else You wish thereafter. You are worthy of praise and glory, the most rightful thing a servant can say, and all of us are Your servants. There is none to withhold what You have given, and the prosperity of the prosperous does not benefit them against You."
