Why did Almighty God say in Surat Al-Anbiya: "And We made from water every living thing" and not: "every living thing alive"?

The Almighty's saying: "{وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ}" (And We made from water every living thing). The reading with the kasra on the ya (ḥayyī) is that of the majority, considering it an adjective for "shay’" (thing). It has also been recited, as an anomalous reading, with a fatha on the ya (ḥayyan), considering it an adjective for "kull" (every) or a second object for "ja'alnā" (We made). This noble verse is a proof against the polytheists and indicates the immense power of Allah. Its interpretation is that Allah brought to life with water everything, whether animal or plant, or that water is the cause of all life. It is also said that what is meant is the water of the seminal fluid.
