Is the wife's inability to conceive after delaying the performance of the 'Umrah vow due to prohibitive circumstances considered a divine punishment?

If the vow is restricted to a specific time, such as performing Umrah upon marriage, it must be fulfilled immediately when its time arrives. It is not permissible to delay it except for a valid excuse. Delaying it without an excuse is a sin, which necessitates prompt fulfillment.

However, if the vow is absolute and not restricted to a specific time, it is commendable to hasten its fulfillment, even if delay is not sinful.

What happened to the wife may be a punishment for delaying the vow or a test to elevate her status and expiate sins. Patience and seeking reward from God will ultimately lead to good, for Allah tests His servants with ease and hardship for profound reasons. Allah, the Almighty, said: (And give good tidings to the patient, Who, when affliction strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.)
