Is wearing a "Sakrouta Jilbab" forbidden? And what is the reason for that?
We do not know what a "Sakroutah jilbab" is. If it is a garment for women, the regulations for the legitimate hijab are mentioned in Fatwa no. 33125. However, if it is a garment for men, then there is no objection to it as long as it is not made of silk, or does not involve imitation of women or disbelievers; based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Silk and gold are forbidden for the males of my Ummah and permissible for their females," and "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed men who imitate women," and "Whoever imitates a people is one of them."
