Is it forbidden for men to wear bracelets made of leather, thread, cloth, or plastic, that are colorful and have various drawings on them, solely for adornment, knowing that his people are familiar with that as in Egypt (and it is called "al-asirah" in Saudi Arabia), and the purpose is not to imitate women?

Men are not permitted to adorn themselves with bracelets and the like, as this constitutes imitation of women. Therefore, anything that is specific to women, whether Islamically or customarily, is forbidden for men. The ruling does not change if the questioner does not intend to imitate women, because the underlying reason is the occurrence of imitation, even without intention.
